Configuration - Page
API Key
The API Key section is crucial for connecting 'Assets Owner for Jira' to your Jira instance. Here's what you need to provide:
Email: Enter the email address of the Jira Service Management administrator account. This is the account that has the necessary permissions to access and manage assets.
API Token: Paste the API token you generated earlier using the same Jira Service Management administrator account. This token authorizes the app to access your Jira data securely.
Encryption String: This string is used to encrypt your sensitive information (email, API token, and visibility settings) within our database. It adds an extra layer of security to protect your data. You can customize this string if you wish.
Important: After changing any of these settings and saving the configuration, you need to reload your website for the changes to take effect.
Visibility Settings
Allow/Restrict 'My Assets'
This section allows you to control which groups can access the 'My Assets' page.
Toggle: Switch the toggle between 'Allow' and 'Restrict' to determine whether the selected groups should have access or not.
Allow: The selected groups will see the 'My Assets' option in their profile menu.
Restrict: The selected groups will not see the 'My Assets' option.
Dropdown: Select the specific groups you want to allow or restrict access for. You can choose multiple groups.
Important: After changing group permissions using this dropdown and toggle and saving the configuration, you need to reload your website for the changes to take effect.
Hide Asset-Schemas
This dropdown menu allows you to control which Asset Schemas are visible to users in the 'My Assets' page. By selecting specific schemas, you can hide them from the 'My Assets' view, effectively filtering the information displayed to users.
Hide Object-Types
This selection of dropdowns will grow with each Asset Schema you have. Every Asset Schema gets its own dropdown, where you can choose which object types should be hidden from the 'My Assets' page. (In this example, you see two dropdowns, for 'Test Importer' and 'Hardware Assets'.)
Here's how it works:
Find the schema: Locate the Asset Schema you want to configure.
Expand the dropdown: Click the arrow to see the Object Types within that schema.
Select Object Types: Choose the Object Types you want to hide from the users.
Save Configuration
Important: To save your settings, click the 'Save Configuration' button.
